Make an Appointment
NOTE: due to staffing, it may take longer than usual to get an appointment. We recommend booking well in advance of any deadlines like grade submission or the start of classes.
Services
Please peruse the following before making an appointment to be sure that the CLT is the right resource for you.
Our current services include:
- 1:1 coaching on most aspects of teaching: classroom practices, course design, assignment/assessment design, creating inclusive learning environments, and more!
- Onboarding and coaching programs specifically for new(er) faculty
- Workshops and trainings (including workshops for specific programs/Divisions on request)
- Classroom observations
- Help filming lecture videos (appointment necessary)
- Self-service resources like this website
- Faculty collaboration space in MIC 219
The CLT does not provide Canvas support unless it comes up in the context of other coaching. Your options for Canvas support include, in priority order:
- Instructure 24/7 Support, which can be accessed using the “Help” button in Canvas: live Canvas experts who can answer questions, help you troubleshoot, and walk you through just about anything. If you are having trouble accessing support through Canvas, you can call the instructor support hotline at 1-833-209-6112 or chat with an Instructure support rep.
- Canvas support at Champlain, accessed by emailing clt@champlain.edu: help with Canvas issues specific to Champlain, like copying a course, enrollments, creating sandboxes, etc.
- If you are using an e-textbook with Canvas integrations, contact the publisher’s support resources
The CLT also does not provide general technical support, including but not limited to issues with your Champlain account(s) or email, hardware problems, classroom technology problems, and user support for general computing tasks. For these things, contact Champ Support at champsupport@champlain.edu, or (for classroom technology issues) call the phone number posted in your classroom.
How to Book an Appointment
If you are a new or occasional CLT client, or you worked with someone other than Caroline in the past, please email clt@champlain.edu to request your appointment. If you currently work with Caroline or have worked with her in the past, you may book directly using Caroline’s Calendly scheduler. Do not book an appointment if your only concern is about Canvas. Start with Instructure 24/7 Support, and move to clt@champlain.edu if Instructure cannot assist you.
Finally, we should note that appointments are only available to Champlain faculty and staff teaching in, or affiliated with, the College’s campus-based programs in Burlington, Dublin, and Montreal. If that’s not you, we’re glad you’re here and we hope our resources are helpful! For further help, Champlain students should email Champ Support with any issues. Champlain College Online faculty should email Champ Support or your Program Director, depending on what your question is. Students and CCO faculty also have access to Instructure 24/7 Support using the Help button in Canvas. If you’re not affiliated with Champlain, thanks for visiting and feel free to explore the site.
What’s Your Need?
Still wondering where to seek help? Identify the right resource based on your issue or question below.
Canvas use questions, how-tos, and troubleshooting: Instructure 24/7 Support – call 1-833-209-6112 or chat with a Canvas rep
Email clt@champlain.edu for all of the following (unless already working with Caroline):
- New faculty consultation
- Teaching with Canvas (technical questions can be resolved more quickly through Instructure’s 24/7 Canvas Support)
- Grading and feedback, including designing rubrics
- Course and assignment design
- Issues you aren’t sure how to categorize that are related directly to teaching, not tech support
Student Canvas issues: Please refer students seeking Canvas support to Champ Support or Canvas’s 24/7 support for students, which they can access through the Canvas Help button. (The phone number and chat link on this page are for faculty, not students.) The CLT does not provide Canvas support to students, and we advise faculty not to do so.
