Dear Faculty Advisors,
As we move to remote campus operations we want to make sure you and your students are fully supported during advising and registration. Here are resources and updates for you and students during this time:
Registration and Deadline Updates
As you may have seen, we have made the following updates to registration:
- First day of registration: April 6 *updated registration windows will be reflected for students in WebAdvisor
- Last day to withdraw from a course: April 10
- Last day to withdraw from the College: April 24
- Last day to request a medical withdrawal from the College: April 24
- Deadline to register: May 1
Students can still expect to see registration holds from student accounts and the student health center for immunization records, and we will work with them to ensure they are meeting all other requirements.
We will be sending updated registration window information, additional support resources for advising and registration, and updated deadlines to students.
Our staff is also ready to meet with you or students using this platform. Please note that per the President’s message on 3/16 we cannot accommodate on-campus advising appointments for students
If you have students who are undeclared, questioning their major, or know they would like to switch majors, please have them fill out this form. We will then connect them with the most appropriate contact.
Pre-approved CCO Courses
There is now a list of pre-approved courses that students can take through CCO over the summer. They will not need to go through the regular approval process, which we are hoping eliminates barriers and extra communications/emails. Academic Specialists will be following up with students to confirm that they are registered for these online equivalents and to ensure that students are aware of important CCO deadlines and course expectations.
Here is the list, along with linked syllabi:
|Trad Course||CCO Equivalent|
|MTH-180 Intro Stats||MATH-180 Intro Stats|
|COM-270 Intercultural Communication||COMM-270 Intercultural Comm|
|ACT-140 Financial Accounting||ACCT-140 Managerial Accounting|
|BLW-140 Business Law I||BLAW-140 Business Law|
|MGT-460 Business Policy / Strategic Management||MGMT-460 Strategic Management|
|PSYC 100 – Psychology, Introduction to||PSYC-100 Intro to Psych|
|MGT265 – Information Systems for Mgmt||MGMT-220 Bus Info Systems and Security|
At this time, Fall 2020 study abroad programs are proceeding as planned, but all students planning to study abroad will be advised to register for fall Burlington campus courses as a placeholder. Students will be manually registered for fall study abroad courses when and if travel restrictions are lifted, and programs are cleared to move ahead. Students with questions about this should contact the Registrar’s Office or the Office of International Education.

Resources for Students

We will include registration and advising information there, along with tips for accessing supports remotely, including how to meet with their academic specialist. We will update the link here once it’s ready to go.
**Boost in support**
Sign up here for a group session or individual session. I am aware that many people are needing to adjust their normal working hours. I’m more than willing to accommodate this – we can meet over breakfast, dinner, coffee – you name it. You can reach me (Corinne) directly through email or calling 802-865-6461. I’m also available through Google Chat and Hangouts.
Additionally, we realize faculty have a huge load moving their classes online and then immediately jumping into registration. Our advising team is happy to meet with your students for advising support. Just let us know and we will reach out accordingly.
We will continue to send out updates as necessary and are committed to supporting you and our students in any way we can for a successful finish to the semester. If you need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
