Since the Canvas instance at Champlain College is secure (HTTPS), any content included on a Canvas page that is insecure (HTTP) will not display unless the user makes a specific security exception. Most of the time, this can be fixed by simply adding an “s” in a website URL after the “http” header to use HTTPS to access the site. If not, Firefox and Chrome can load insecure content, but this is not recommended. This can be done by clicking the shield icon near the URL or search bar of a website. Ensuring that all linked sites in Canvas pages are in HTTPS ensures that content is secure.
